Tiny Home REVEAL >

I’m excited to reveal the inside of the 5th Wheel Trailer makeover I worked on this past winter.

I’ll be revealing this tiny space that you can come tour and see in person at the Backyard Living Expo this year! I’ll be at the show on Saturday, March 30 at Noon and Sunday, March 31 at 2pm. Come join me and tour my latest design! http://www.thebackyardlivingexpo.com/expo-details/speakers/

This space was so fun to work on and a labour of love as I was working on it with my parents so they can enjoy it in the summer months. I wanted to create a space for them that was serene, clean and bright. I took this dated trailer and, with a few special touches, was able to create a space that is truly unexpected and spectacular.

When it came to the tiny kitchen that they’d be using for months on end, I wanted to make sure it was useful and stream lined. I didn’t skim when it came to the faucet features in the kitchen, or the bathroom. For the kitchen I chose Delta’s Trinsic faucet which is sleek and modern. For the bathroom I chose the Pivotal Bath Collection which creates a look that makes a true statement. I wanted to go with a contrasting color so I chose black. It’s perfect as it shows no finger prints and it’s easy to keep clean.

Another element you wouldn’t expect to find in a mobile home is a fireplace. There was already an existing bookshelf built into the original unit, and instead of ripping it out, I made it a central piece in the living room space. I had a Dimplex 23” Multi-Fire XHD unit built into the bookshelf creating a feature wall in the tiny space. The Multi-Fire XHD was the perfect addition to the space with the option to use heat - giving the space warmth on cold nights, or for use without heat duringthe warm summer months.small kitchen RV life

Bedding was super important because it had to be easy to get into the small opening of the trailer but still extremely comfortable. A mobile home is a space people might spends months at a time in so I wanted it to have all the comforts of home. I chose Cocoon by Sealy. They offer superior quality and their mattress comes in a small box; perfect to get into our tiny home space.

Now for the décor, I wanted to keep accessories simple yet stylish. I used a lot of white in the bedrooms and Bunkie to give the illusion of more space and openness. I intermixed a teal like colour throughout the trailer starting with the kitchen cupboards, through to the bedroom pillows and then into the artwork for consistency. Instead of a regular dining room table I chose a smaller card table in natural wood and a longer sofa where more people can gather around.  White accessories and greenery topped off the space perfectly.

Now stay tuned for the GRAND reveal of the outside of the space! Prepare to be awe struck!

WHAT ARE THE CABINET COLOURS: We chose two colours from Benjamin Moore: Chantilly Lace OC-65 for the uppers and Mount Saint Anne CC-710 for the lowers, both in Aura Interior Paint in Eggshell finish. I chose a two-tone approach for the cabinets to give the space more interest, impact and depth.

WHAT DID YOU USE AS A BACKSPLASH: I also wanted to update the tiny kitchen’s backsplash, but traditional tile was not an option as they’d simply break and crack when the mobile home hit the highway. I chose a product called The Good Tile who offer a bold wallpaper and luxury vinyl tile options that are easy to install and have no risk of breaking.
