Tiny Home with a Huge Outside Transformation >

We had an overwhelming response when we launched the 5th Wheel Trailer at the Backyard Living Expo a few weeks ago. People had the chance to tour the space in person, gather ideas about small space living and lots of people shared their passion for minimalist living.

We wanted to give you a preview of the outside of the trailer, to give you a little taste of what the outside looks like – more to come when this bad boy hits the road and we can create a 360 tour of the outside in it’s natural habitat. For now, here is glimpse of the before and afters of this massive transformation.

The outside is what people see first and it sets the tone for the space. There was lots of body work to be done on this 2004 mobile home. We worked with Great Canadian Fleet Services who were able to repair the damaged fiberglass to make the mobile home look like new again. We also chose to have it completely wrapped by Bolt Signs; paint really wasn’t an option for the outside of this mobile home, so a wrap was a much more durable option. They were able to produce and install a vinyl wrap to completely transform the outside of the mini home. I wanted to go with a completely out of the box colour that you wouldn’t typically see in a mobile home so I went with blue and cream. The look and feel that the trailer has now has is drool worthy.

The dated awning was hanging off the mobile home and in desperate need of a complete overhaul. We teamed up with The Awning Authority who specializes in retractable awnings and screens that are designed to last a lifetime (and with a home on wheels, you certainly need the option of opening and closing up the shade system).

Finally, this Tiny Home would not be complete without a great charcoal grill that you can easily set-up when you arrive at your destination.  We knew we’d want to enjoy some outdoor grilling so we added an ivory colour Weber Master-Touch charcoal kettle to the mix.  After a long drive, it’s the perfect grill to pop out of the trailer, light the briquettes and anticipate the sound of foods sizzling on the hot cooking grates. This retro-looking grill fits perfectly with the retro looking trailer.
