This holiday season is going to look extremely different. Just because we can’t celebrate with people outside our homes doesn’t mean it can’t be joyous.

This year I want to give people tips on how to create magical experiences at home to enjoy with your immediate family. This year I want it to be all about creating unique memories and setting up fun new traditions.

Nostalgic Nosh

This year I wanted to bring back some old-time favourites for my family and really bring the joy of the holidays home. The PC Insiders Report was just the ticket. It really takes the "think work" out of holiday planning. They have some really cool twists on old time favourites that I want to share with you that will really spark some unexpected fun this holiday season.

I LOVE setting up a dessert stations. Did you know that my all-time favourite sweet treats are cookies and pies. PC has put them together in their new PC Decadent Chocolate Chip Cookie Pie – it was like they were reading my mind. Top it with their twist on a holiday tradition (hot chocolate) with a scoop of their new PC Peppermint Hot Chocolate Ice cream and trust me you are going to want to go straight to the dessert station and skip the main meal this year!

It’s no secret I love wine and I also love gifting wine! Since we can’t go out this holiday season I want to create zones at home where it feels like a night out on the town. Why not try setting up your own bistro this year? Grab a bottle of your favourite wine – I am loving Ruffino Modus which is made from three delicious grape varieties which pairs amazing with holiday favourites. I love to set this up with a gorgeous cheese board, fancy napkins and the best stem wear we have. It’s just feel luxurious and almost like a night out. If a Pinot Noir is more your style the Meiomi Pinot Noir helps bring a bit of sunny California to some of your dark December days. It blends grapes from three different California regions to create a velvety smooth, fruit forward Pinot Noir.

I really want to encourage DOING more together this holiday season. A great gift for the sports fan on your list is DAZN, a sports streaming app that offers more live football than anyone else in Canada. It’s nonstop live streaming, highlights, documentaries, shows and more!  I love that we can do a sports day with the kids, set up a popcorn station, cuddle up on the sofa and spend some great time together. It’s also the easiest gift! All you do is sign up on or grab a gift card from Shoppers Drug Mart or Loblaws to mail it off to a loved one
